Employment Opportunities with Kaleidoscope

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED BECOMING A THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARER?
As one of the leading providers of specialist Therapeutic Child Care in the UK Kaleidoscope receives requests to find families for children from throughout England and Wales and from many cultural backgrounds.  In order to meet the needs of children currently referred to us we are seeking to recruit families who can provide sensitive, high-quality, nurturing care for young people from black British, African-Caribbean and dual heritage families.

If you can answer the yes to the following questions we would love to hear from you.

We offer our foster carers:

For a friendly, informal discussion, please call Jess, Elaine or Maria on 01795  830006.

Qualified Social Workers

We are always interested in hearing from qualified social workers who are seeking to work in a therapeutic environment.

Whilst experience is an asset, a strong commitment to our therapeutic values is most important. Whether you are a worker with a child care background, or are recently qualified and are seeking to find your place in the care system, we would be pleased to hear from you even if we are not showing any specific vacancies.

Therapists

Kaleidoscope is always seeking to expand its team of child-centred therapists trained in different disciplines, including traditional child psychotherapy, play or art psychotherapy and CBT, to work with our looked after children. We also provide support to families who foster through family workers with a background in Family Therapy / systemic approaches to problem solving in a family context.

Vacancies:

Currently we are seeking to employ a further experienced child therapist, and have a long term requirement for a family therapist. Both these either sessionally or on part-time contract.

Please contact Angela Thorne or Elaine Johnson on 01795 830006, to discuss, or via e-mail to: mail@ktcc.co.uk.

Child Therapists

We are also looking for a Therapist / Counselling Psychologist who has experience of working with children and adolescents, using a cognitive, solution-focussed or TA approach, for sessional work, to complement our existing team.

We are particularly looking for therapists who have developed skills in working with children who have experienced sexual abuse.

Please contact Angela Thorne or Elaine Johnson on 01795 830006, to discuss, or via e-mail to: mail@ktcc.co.uk.

Part-time Education Coordinator

We are seeking to recruit an Education Coordinator to liaise with schools of children placed with Kaleidoscope, and support individual children. Initially this is for 2-3 days a week during term time, but this could become a full-time post for someone with the right qualifications and experience. Responsibilities will depend on the qualifications of the person appointed, but will include supporting and training foster carers in helping the children in their care to get the most out of education, and liaising with schools both at the time of placement, and subsequently. Kaleidoscope enjoys very good relationships with the schools our children attend.

The post would suit a qualified teacher, particularly with experience as a SENCO or LAC Coordinator. Alternatively an Education Social Worker or advanced Learning Support Assistant would be considered.

Please contact Angela Thorne or Elaine Johnson on 01795 830006, to discuss, or via e-mail to: mail@ktcc.co.uk.

Form F Assessors

Qualified social workers are required, who can provide high-quality Form F assessments, with a depth of analysis appropriate to recruiting foster carers to re-parent traumatised children. Training in using the ASI or the HOME Inventory would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.

Please contact Elaine Johnson on 01795 830006, to discuss, or via e-mail to: mail@ktcc.co.uk.
