Place a Child

Kaleidoscope is widely recognised for the specialist therapeutic family placements we provide for children and young people, as well as sibling groups and mother and baby dyads.

To support the regular through put of referrals and satisfy the needs of the referring social workers we have built a strong network of foster carers that have the welfare of the fostered individual at heart, bringing true professionalism to what many may consider a vocational occupation.

It is through these foster carers' dedication that we are able to offer a range of placement type to achieve the very best outcome for the individual. These placement types are as follows:

Assessment Placements

We provide assessment placements for children and young people.

We normally expect that a child will be with us for two to three years, to enable some intensive work to be undertaken, and that they will then be ready to move into a permanent placement or rehabilitation, in accordance with their care plan. Where appropriate, we can facilitate this through our links with adoption and fostering agencies providing permanent placements for young people.

Helping to Develop a Secure Attachment

Kaleidoscope therapeutic staff and foster carers are specially trained to address attachment issues in their work, providing safe and consistent boundaries for young people who have not been able to develop secure attachments to previous carers.
