Make a Child Referral
When a young person is referred to us we will discuss within our team and with you, whether the child can be appropriately placed with us, and which of our families can best meet their needs. If there are any concerns about serious mental illness , or dangerous behaviour, we seek the opinion of our psychiatric consultant before offering a place.
At Kaleidoscope we have established a network of Foster Carers who have a broad range of social and caring skills that enables us to achieve a good match to the child's needs. In many cases this brings immediate stability to the child, enabling them to settle quickly despite their severe emotional distress.
In emergency situations our considerable knowledge of a carer's capabilities enables us to source fairly rapidly an initial overnight/weekend placement.
